Opening of Japan Visa Application Center (JVAC)

In order to improve service and convenience for visa applicants, we will opene the Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC) to accept visa applications, visa issuance, and visa waiver registration (except online) to Indonesian IC passports/e-passport.
Under contract with VFS Global, JVAC will start operation on Monday, April 1, 2024. Inquiries regarding visas will also be accepted at the JVAC.
Please note that visa applications are accepted at the Consulate's counter until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024. From April 1, 2024 onwards visa applications will be accepted at JVAC. (Visa applications accepted at the Consulate by March 28 (Thu.) will continue to be issued at the Consulate's counter.)

(JVAC will be closed on Saturday, Sunday, and the Consulate closing days)

Note:
  • In addition to the visa fee, JVAC will charge additional service fee.
  • Online visa waiver registration applications to Indonesian IC passports/e-passport will continue to be available online (no fee). Please submit your application at the following URL. If you have already applied online, please do not apply for visa waiver registration at JVAC.

  • The visa fee and JVAC service fee must be paid at the time of application.
  • In principle, it takes 5 business days from the date of application to the date of issuance of the visa.
  • For temporary visitor visa for the purpose of sightseeing (not including visits to relatives or business), an eVISA (electronic visa) which can be displayed on a mobile device generally will be issued and the sticker type visa will no longer be issued.
 
Other information:
(1 ) The Consulate General of Japan in Surabaya and Medan as well as the Consular Office in Makassar will also open JVAC and begin accepting applications on Monday, April 1, 2024.
